Some Tips for Casino

Game Tips

While you still have one dollar left you can still play and you never know when fortunes will turn. Every dollar is valuable even if you have a thousand. That dollar might save you. Be serious and extremely careful about wasting money.
We have an axiom in the casino which goes: “Don’t If they lose a dollar, they bet two dollars and if they lose two, they bet four and so forth. This is an over simplification but they do bet more each time. What they are doing is chasing the original dollar they lost. It makes no sense to be betting $256 to win a dollar. Chasing money is doubly dangerous because the house always has a limit and there will come a time when you will not be allowed to bet enough to get your dollar back. Then not only will you lose your dollar but lots more. The time to increase your bets (intelligently) is when you are winning so that you can take advantage of the break in the cards.

Game Player

A player should know his game so well that he has a prepared plan of action that he is sure of, already prepared before he plays that will cover every emergency. But a “losing progression” should not be part of his plan. Also, Caution: too many people make out complicated rules for themselves which they’ve copied from some book or a friend. After a few minutes of play, in the excitement of the game, their face flushes and they can’t possibly remember everything they planned to do. Flustered, with the game running over them they go back to just playing and lose fast.
You know it’s amazing that people will spend big money for years in the learning of bridge and when they play consider it a misfortune if they lose $5. But they’ll lose $50 at “21” in a casino and not spend one hour learning the niceties of the game before they play. How do you figure it?

Casino Money

I think the lavishness of Las Vegas makes their small bankroll (average is $50 to $300) seem infinitesimal by comparison and so they lose it carelessly feeling they shouldn’t care. On the other hand, they believe they are unimportant and feel uneasy to be taking up all that space on the small amount of money they have. And how wrong they are! They should play carefully, take their time and watch every dollar.
One time in the free casino game I was annoyed by the treatment a Mr. R. gave his wife. He bet a lot of money and she nursed her $5 bets. They both played “21” next to each other. One evening I took her aside and taught her a few fine ‘chase’ your money.” It is excellent advice.
Well with some good run of cards, she won the next three s out, while Mr. it. was losing plenty. It wasn’t long re he had figured out his wife’s play and was doing the same. He doesn’t kid her anymore.
Recently a bright young fellow stopped at the “21” table. bet $50 on each hand and won four in a row for a cool profit in 5 minutes. He grinned at rue and said, “I’ve got enough.” What could I do but he winked at his girl friend as he showed her the $200 and he left. Having been around casinos all my life, I can tell you the only sure thing about cards is that they run in good cycles and in bad cycles and you never know when each will hit you. Never but never quit a winning cycle let it quit you. Ride all the way.
